Her triathlon hobby has now taken over and she works part time as an event organiser, but  Liz is also an accomplished triathlete after racing her first tri in 1985. She is ranked in the top 10 for her age group in half iron-distance events and has recently come third at Marshman Middle Tri and first in her age group. To date she has competed in 13 iron-distance events, and was also in the cycling team that won the National Ladies Team British Best All Round Championship in 2009. Liz has also ran over 50 marathons.

She is a Level 2 British Triathlon Federation coach, and also runs a  Tri Spirit Team.

Best recent sporting moment – Liz won the John Flitch MTB Duathlon 2014

Worst sporting moment – Having four litres of saline pumped into her body at Challenge Barcelona 2009 and being carted off in an ambulance – she learnt to get the nutrition right for her next ironman.

Ali Steed, Director TSE

AS Racing 2009Ali is an accomplished triathlete having taken part in eight Ironman triathlons to date, which consists of a 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike ride and a full marathon of 26.2 miles, back-to-back, all within 17 hours. Ali is also a keen cyclist, and was one of three ladies in the team that won the National Ladies Team British Best All Round Championship in 2009. This involved cycling a 25 mile, 50 mile and 100 mile time trial.

Best recent sporting moment – Taking an hour off her ironman time at Challenge Barcelona 2009

Worst sporting moment – Taking an hour of her ironman time at Challenge Barcelona 2009. Would have been two hours if Liz hadn’t been taken ill!
