Q. How do I know if my entry has been accepted?

A. If you have entered online you will received an automatic email from Active. If you send us a postal entry as soon as you cheque is cashed you are in the event. Please allow a week for this process.

Q. Will I be sent my bib number or information?

A. No, we do not send anything out in the post. One week before the event date an email message will be sent, so please check your inbox. This message will contain all the event information you require including your bib number, event information and parking etc.. this will also be available online at the Tri Spirit Events website. Make sure you look on the correct event landing page.

Q. Can I enter on the day?

A. There is no guarantee entries will be available as our events fill up, so you are better off signing up early, so not to be disappointed. You will also benefit as our early bird entry fees will apply.

Q. I’ve entered an event but have injured myself in the last week. Can I get my money back?

A. No, unfortunately as you are in the last 30 days to the event date we are unable to offer a refund or transfer. Please read our withdrawal and refunds policy. We hate this part of event organising but have to be fair to all who enter.

Q.What are the ground conditions for the run?

A. The surface underfoot is tarmac footpaths or running track at the Julie Rose Stadium. Please be careful when crossing roads and at the Aid stations.

Q. Is the bike section is on road?

A. Yes, the bike section is on road and open to traffic. Remember to beware of other competitors and traffic. Follow the Highway code at all times, thank you.

Q. Do I need to wear a wetsuit?

A. It depends on the temperature of the water – we run our events in conjunction with the governing body British Triathlon.

The rule book – 9.3 The minimum water temperature as follows:

<14°C – Wetsuits manadatory

14°C – 21.9°C – Optional but recommended

>22°C – Wetsuits banned – Sprint/Standard distance

>23°C – Wetsuits banned – Full/Half distance

However we strongly recommend that you wear a wetsuit where applicable for our events.

Q. Are there changing facilities at the Julie Rose Stadium?

A. Yes, the stadium has changing facilities which include lockers, showers and toilets.

Q. Is the event briefing on the Saturday for the Standard Tri/Aquabike?

A. No, all event briefings will be on the Sunday morning at the lakeside shelter by the start area. This will be 10 mins before your start time.

Q. When is the event briefing for my event?

Owler Half Tri & Aquabike – This will take place at 7.50am at the lakeside shelter, before the start at 8am.

Owler Standard Tri & Aquabike – This will be at 09.50am at the lakeside shelter, before the start at 10am.

Q. What are the cut off times for my event?

 

Owler Half Tri & Aquabike

Start 08am – Finish 4.30pm

Swim – 1 hour 10 minutes

Bike – 5 hours 30 minutes – cycle time 4hours 20 mins.

Run – 8hours 30 mins – run time 3 hours.

Finish – 4.30pm

Owler Standard Tri & Aquabike

We expect standard athletes to finish in under 5 hours.

Q. Are there toilets on the run route for the Half Tri?

A. Yes, at the Aid stations, toilets are located within the adjoining buildings or at transition.
