The annual New Year's Day 10mile Time Trial held at Bethersden Village hall attracted 77 riders, with four members from Tri Spirit Team flying the local flag on the road, and many more of the growing team cheering from the sidelines.

First home for the team was Mark Carty in 26.55, followed by Liz King, 29.57, Aly Nye 34.10 and Ali Steed 36.54.

Liz and Ali picked up prizes for most improved on last year's time and second most improved respectively. Liz smashed her time from last year by 48 seconds, while Ali did well to take 25 seconds off her time for 2011.

Liz said: "It was great to have four riders out on the course, but even better to have so many of the team turn out on New Year's Day to cheer them on. The club continues to grow, and we have many members participating in a variety of events this year - watch this space."
