Three members of Tri Spirit Team took on the appropriately named ‘Insomnia' Bedgebury Night Ride last weekend, with impressive finishes for all involved.

New team members Claire and Daniel Green, and Ali Draper started the event at 8pm on Saturday evening, and they carried on riding laps of the eight mile off-road circuit until 8am on Sunday morning. Each had to use their own lighting system to find their way around the testing course.
Both ladies entered the Solo Female division, with Ms Green finishing in 2nd place and Mrs Draper finishing 3rd in an excellent outing for the team colours.
The uneven route and pitch darkness caused many accidents, with Mr Green coming cropper many times. Even so, he finished an impressive 10th out of 62 riders in the Solo Male category with 10 laps finished.
Further a field Liz King raced at Challenge Henley, taking on the Henley Half Middle distance triathlon. She had to swim 1,900m in the Thames, cycle 56miles and run a half marathon. Ms King won her age group and placed 9th female finisher overall in 6.09.33.
Liz pictured with Pro triathlete Andriy Yastrebov who finished the full distance in 6th place in a time 8.57.27. We gave Andriy lifts for much of the weekend and hope this helped in some way with his result.

Other Tri Spirit Team members completed an active weekend for the local club, with Sue Spice and Julie Bradford competing at the Kent CA 25 Mile TT (A). Mrs Spice just pipped Bradford by seconds, finishing in 1.16.05, while Bradford recorded 1.16.17 in her first time trial at this distance.
Ms King said: "It was a really impressive performance by everyone racing for the team this weekend, and we have had an incredibly successful season. We are now going to start our winter training schedule, which hopefully will give us a good base for an even better season next year."
